If Fox is the king of the motocross helmets and accessories realm – and Fox is indeed the highest-selling motocross label on the planet – it’s because the company has never failed to deliver in their mission to combine quality, design, safety, comfort and innovation, while maintaining close ties to some of the best motocross riders in the world.

For more than 30 years, this family business has been crafting motocross helmets, gear and accessories for all pros and amateurs in search of the very best.

In 1974, Geoff Fox, Professor at the University of Physics in Santa Clara, founded Moto-X-Fox in a small workshop in Campbell, California. At first the nascent enterprise dealt in replacement parts and accessories for motocross. 2 years on and Moto-X-Fox was already producing suspension systems and other parts highly sought-after by riders at the time.

It was in 1977 that Fox, wanting to get his work out to a larger public, decided to form a racing team attached to the company with the same name: Moto-X-Fox. And he didn’t have to wait too long to start getting results! The team quickly became a serious rival to the already established outfits, finishing in 5th, 6th and 7th at the AMA Motocross Championships, one of the most important competitions.

During the preliminary trials of the championship, the Moto-X-Fox team were sporting hand-made yellow, orange and coloured overalls, that caught the eyes of everyone on the circuit, and the next day had Fox’s phone ringing off the hook with orders. And thus the story of the birth of Fox motorcycle gear.

Faced with such high demand, Fox set himself to expanding the company’s collection with protective apparel and accessories, which over time came to represent the reference point for the motocross industry in the USA.
Fox collaborate closely with the best MX riders in the world, and the company’s list of honours is ever-growing. Mark Bennett was the first Fox rider to win when he secured the company’s first Motocross National Championship in 1980 and it was Brad Lackey won the company’s first Motocross World Title two years later.

Over the last twenty years, Fox’ riders have brought back more than 40 National Motocross and Supercross Championships; like Ricky Carmichael with the 2006 AMA Supercross Championship, or James Stewart with the World Supercross Championship not long after.

Today Fox, whose world headquarters can be found in Irvine and in Morgan Hill in California, and whose European headquarters are located in Barcelona, continues to grow by expanding the company’s product range, and by continuing to provide motocross gear which responds to the conditions imposed by nature as well as by Motocross’ governing bodies.

The close association and communication that Fox maintains with the best MX riders in the world allows the company to constantly evolve and improve their products’ protective capacity, performance and freedom of movement. That way, each Fox user, be they amateur or professional, can benefit from the best motocross equipment around, proven on the biggest stages.
