SHARK

The story of Shark motorcycle helmets is the story of a family business from the southern French port city of Marseille. In 1929, Cyprien Teston opened up his own cycle shop. Then, 57 years later, his grandchildren would launch their own motorbike helmet brand: Shark, and bite themselves off a huge chunk of the market !

If sharks are the kings of the ocean, well the Shark helmet company is the king in its own realm : N°1 in the French market, available in more than 35 countries, the brand has become a world leader.

Driven forward by an unrivalled creativity, the company has always shown itself to be on the crest of the wave when it comes to innovation in the industry. In 1992, Shark’s first year in the international market would also be the year they would release the XRC, the first motorcycle helmet in the world to be industrially produced using carbon fibre. The XRC was that year widely acclaimed as ‘Helmet of the Year’ in the European press. So Shark were on their way.

For more than 20 years, Shark helmets have been amongst the most reliable on the market. The company’s research team is reputed for pushing the boundaries in their work to attain the best possible performance from their products. On the design front Shark is also a leader ; calling on renowned artists to match the firm’s high safety standards with striking, à la mode forms and stand-out finishes.

Baptised ‘SK by Shark’, this particular line of urban helmets is aimed at those who value the freedom and ease of a scooter. "Easy, Epur, Club, So Chic, Dj and Glossy", the very names evince the scooter lifestyle.

The Shark brand produces several helmet forms : full-face, open-face, modular and motocross. And naturally for such a highly-rated company, Shark is a big player in the motorbike competition world. In 23 years of existence Shark has won more than 40 world championships. More than 170 pro riders have put their safety in the hands of Shark, among them some legends : Raymond Roche, Carl Fogarty, Miguel Duhamel, Régis Laconi, Mike Di Meglio…
